1. An installation is an art piece that takes up space and is 3-dimensional. It should make you feel something just as a regular painting should, and is large scale and multi medium.
2. I think it turned out pretty good, considering the road to the end was somewhat rocky. I love the way the painted pieces make the tree look alive and flourishing. Everyone's detail counted in the big picture and it was very symbolic and pretty. 3. if it was a personal project, I would have toned down the scale a little and made it smaller, and also added more painted details so the tree looked more alive. 4. At our table, each of us made small individual pieces such as ladybugs and mushrooms, and we all did most of the bark on the tree I would say. Together we were pretty productive. I made lots of small things including dozens of leaves, a butterfly, two mushrooms (a small one and a large one) and more that I cant recall off the top of my head.

What I found successful was the delicacy that is portrayed in the piece because of the pure white color and the thinness of the styrofoam. It really put the finishing touches on my fairy house!
Something that was hard about this piece though was in fact the delicacy of the material. Although it was nice aeshetically, it was rough to work with it without making jagged lines or ripping through something. 1. The project is going really well, it's been smooth sailing for me so far. It's been really fun and I enjoy making pieces with my friends. 2. One success I would say is my butterfly and assembling pieces of similar artistry with lots of layers and such. With smaller pieces I find it hard to create depth using just cardboard. In the future I think working with paint and color values will help give cardboard flat structures depth and excitements. These pieces do not have a single artist, because they were crafted by years of car factory runoff and extra paint. They are layers upon layers of car lacquers hardened by the heat of the factories. The factories ran from the 1930s to the 1960s and were deemed too abrasive to the environment because of all their toxic chemicals. These pieces are so inspiring to me because it shows how even though we as humans have caused so much harmful impact to our environment, somehow in the midst of all this mess came a beautiful creation, and it makes me feel like I could inspire someone that way with my art. That is why I do art.
